Privacy policy

The Projet d’intervention auprès des mineures prostituées (“Piamp”) is committed to maintaining your trust and respecting the following privacy policy in order to protect the privacy, security and accuracy of the personal information we collect, use or disclose in accordance with applicable legislation. We have established this policy to explain our practices with respect to the personal information we collect when you purchase a product or service or visit our website.

Scope of the policy

This policy applies only to the Piamp website. It takes into account the requirements of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, R.S.Q., c. P-39.1 and any other applicable legislation.

Consent

By using the website https://piamp.net/ (“the Website”), you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and agree to its terms and conditions with respect to the collection and processing of your personal information and the use of cookies (see Policy on Cookies and Other Technologies).

Piamp uses and discloses personal information only with your consent and for the purposes identified, except as otherwise required or permitted by law. Consent may be implied or express, depending on the situation.

If you are under the age of fourteen (14), please obtain the permission of a parent or guardian before providing us with any personal information.

You may withhold or withdraw your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information, provided there is no legal or contractual reason why you should not do so. However, depending on the circumstances, withdrawing your consent may prevent us from continuing to provide you with certain products and services you have requested, such as ordering materials and receiving newsletters.

You may refuse or withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by mail to the attention of Piamp Coordination at 4430 Papineau Avenue, Montreal, QC, H2H 1T8, by e-mail at piamp@piamp.net or by telephone at 514-284-1267.

Security measures

All personal information collected by Piamp is stored in secure locations and on controlled servers. In addition, any credit card number that you transmit at the time of your order is encrypted. It is therefore impossible for anyone to intercept it and it remains strictly confidential. A small, locked padlock appearing at the bottom of the browser window as well as the URL address beginning with “https://” rather than “http://” indicate that the page on which you are making your transactions is protected by the SSL protocol (Secure Sockets Layer).

Piamp will ensure that personal information is disposed of or destroyed, as appropriate, in a manner that prevents unauthorized parties from gaining access to it.

Information collected

You may visit the website anonymously at any time without revealing any personal information to us. When you connect to our website, as with any other website, our server identifies the IP address of your computer, tablet or mobile device (“device”) to enable the exchange of data, which allows us to compile statistics on site traffic. No personal information is linked to your IP address.

In certain circumstances, either when you sign up for e-mail newsletters or when you make a purchase from the store, you must provide in an on-screen form all or some of the following information: your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, city, province and, if you agree, certain other information. Piamp collects only the information it needs to provide its products and services. We take reasonable steps to protect all personal information collected by adopting appropriate security measures. To the extent possible, Piamp will provide you with the means to verify that your personal information is accurate and up-to-date.

Your credit card number is used only for transactions you make on the website. It is not accessible to Piamp or anyone else, other than the online payment service, at the time of the transaction.

Please note that in order to ensure the confidentiality of your personal information, Piamp does not share your personal information with any third parties, except with the persons mentioned in the paragraph below and unless we have your approval. Piamp does not sell the data collected to any organization or company or share it with anyone else.

Why do we ask for personal information?

The information collected allows Piamp to process your order, to personalize its communications with you and, if you have given us your consent, to send you information about its sites, services or products from time to time.

Only Piamp and its suppliers who provide customer service have access to the information you have submitted to the website. Certain other service providers (e.g. programming firms) may have access to this personal information from time to time in order to provide the required service, but are strictly prohibited from using this information for any other purpose. Piamp has signed a confidentiality agreement with each of these suppliers to ensure the protection of any personal information they may receive. Piamp may be required to disclose your personal information under applicable law, for example, to legal counsel or to a government agency with authority to obtain such personal information.
